An employee was standing on top of a mobile crane's stabilizer, calibrating the boom while holding onto part of it with his hand. The boom came down and started to pinch his fingers. When he pulled his hand out, he lost his balance and fell about 9 feet to the ground, breaking both legs (a compound fracture to one leg). He was hospitalized.

An employee was using a pedestal sander to sand down the edges on a piece of metal using an 80 grit disc. While he was pushing the metal into the sander, the metal buckled and his left hand went into the face of the disc, amputating his left index fingertip.
